Centra – Live Every Day TV spot

Earlier on this year we were invited by Russell Curran Productions to produce an animated segment for this Centra spot. You can see our work at about the 20 second mark!


The animation was designed and created by Carol with lighting and technical supervision by Eimhin.


In this piece on our studio space at A4 Sounds, Carol can be seen working on an initial proof of concept too from about 3:20:

Art In Ireland Feature!

Our studio A4 Sounds was recently featured in this special for Art In Ireland by Culture Fox TV’s Niamh Gibbons.

The Bird & the Whale Teaser Trailer!


From writer & director Carol Freeman, comes a tale of a Bird and a Whale, who together struggle to survive, lost at sea.

Featuring an original score by Chris McLoughlin and produced by Jonathan Clarke, this oil paint on glass film will soon be beginning its travels in the big world outside the black=out curtains!

Things have been a little quiet here, as animation is well underway on Carol‘s film The Bird and the Whale. To make up for it; above is a timelapse of a scene in progress from the film!

We’re hosting a FREE STOP MOTION ANIMATION COURSE in St. Michael’s Theatre, New Ross, Co. Wexford on Saturdays 10th, 17th and 24th October, from 11 to 4.30 each day. Participants will design, storyboard and animate a short film using stop-motion animation techniques during this course.

Above is our last collaboration with the County Wexford Youth Film Project created by participants during last April’s Wexford Widescreen Youth Film Festival 2015.
County Wexford Youth Film Project is funded by the Arts Department of Wexford County Council and The Arts Council, in partnership with St. Michael’s Theatre and there are no fees involved for the young people taking part. Each year, films from the project receive their premiere at Wexford Widescreen Youth Film Festival in St. Michael’s Theatre and project films have also been screened at international film festivals and on television.

This free course is open to teenagers from across County Wexford, however places are limited and anyone interested in taking part can book in advance by emailing wexfordyouthfilm@gmail.com or calling St. Michael’s Theatre on 051 421255.

Chester Beatty Library Animation Workshops – Summer 2015

The animations from our recent workshops with the Chester Beatty Library is now online!

Throughout our 4 days with the Chester Beatty Creative Lab Club they produced Thaumatropes, Phenakistoscopes and Flipbooks, and then went on to create animation using sand, plasticine and pixilation inspired by the Chester Beatty Collection of artwork!
