The course runs 7-9.30pm every Tuesday from November 1st, and provides a solid foundation in various forms of stopmotion and other experimental techniques!

Morphing Monster Animation Workshop

In this spooktacular workshop, children will be introduced to the dark art of hand drawn animation. They will design an unassuming character, and then transform it into a fantastical monster over the course of 5-8 drawings. They’ll also create some animation in a flipbook which they can bring home.

Chester Beatty Library Animation Workshops – Summer 2015

The animations from our recent workshops with the Chester Beatty Library is now online!

Throughout our 4 days with the Chester Beatty Creative Lab Club they produced Thaumatropes, Phenakistoscopes and Flipbooks, and then went on to create animation using sand, plasticine and pixilation inspired by the Chester Beatty Collection of artwork!

New Workshop Option: Puppet Building

We’ve added an additional workshop option: Miniature Puppet Building!

Design and build miniature figures, using a wire skeleton armature, masking tape, and stuffing!

It’s usual duration is 60 minutes, with a group size of between 10-25 students, and suitable for ages 10+

Chester Beatty Library Phenakistoscopes!

We have finished compiling the footage from the recent Chester Beatty Library animation workshops.

While waiting on the final bells and whistles for the stopmotion projects created by the students here are the Phenakistoscopes which the students made on day 1!

Life Drawing @ A4 Sounds Studios

Eimhin is hosting a series of ‪#‎lifedrawing‬ classes in A4 Sounds Studios, using a bunch of media and drawing approaches (including a comparative anatomy class with a greyhound)
It’s kicking off Tuesday the 18th, from 1900-2100, at A4 Sounds Studios, St Joseph’s Parade, D07 ER81

1 Class: €10
Footloose and Fancy Free, pick and mix what days will suit you. Book HERE

6 Week Course: €50 (1 free class!)
This 6 week course aims to rid your arms of cobwebs and flex up some serious observational muscle!
The first half of each class will involve a lot of short poses, working on speed and energy in your drawing, incorporating resistance exercises to improve observation and drawing ability, such as gesture, blind, bamboo-stick and wrong-handed drawing. In the second half of each class you will have free reign to apply what you have learned over 2-3 longer poses. We will be using a number of different media, such as charcoal, pastels and ink. Book HERE

 

12 Week Course: €100 (2 free classes!)
This 12 week course will build mass and add definition in those hard to reach areas, such as drawing dimensionally, and creating atmosphere with tone and colour!
The first half of each class will involve a lot of short poses, working on speed and energy in your drawing, incorporating resistance exercises to improve observation and drawing ability, such as gesture, blind, bamboo-stick, negative-space and wrong-handed drawing. In the second half of each class you will have free reign to apply what you have learned over 2-3 longer poses. We will be using a number of different media, such as charcoal, pastels, ink, wire and clay. Book HERE
