Eimhin’s life drawing course at A4 Sounds is back with new dates, beginning on Monday the 20th of February!
You can book the full 6 week course here: LINK (Fee: €50 EUR)
The first half of each class will involve a lot of short poses, working on speed and energy in your drawing, incorporating resistance exercises to improve observation and drawing ability, such as gesture, blind, bamboo-stick and wrong-handed drawing. In the second half of each class you will have free reign to apply what you have learned over 2-3 longer poses. We will be using a number of different media, such as charcoal, pastels and ink.

In this spooktacular workshop, children will be introduced to the dark art of hand drawn animation. They will design an unassuming character, and then transform it into a fantastical monster over the course of 5-8 drawings. They’ll also create some animation in a flipbook which they can bring home.
Participants will work in groups to create spine tingling scenes of animated horror, limited only by their own squeamishness. This workshop will no doubt be suited to animation enthusiasts of an unwholesome disposition. Paper Panther’s workshop facilitators hope that through engaging with the craft of plasticine animation, they might once again become moral and upright members of society.
We’re happy to announce that Pádraig Fagan will be teaching a 5 week course in A4 Sounds Studios titled ‘An Introduction to Experimental Animation.’
The course will be held on Tuesdays between 7 and 9.30pm from the 23rd of August to the 20th of September 2016. The cost is €125 and you can book your place here: LINK
The course will introduce participants to a range of animation techniques, including pixilation, plasticine, sand, and hand drawn animation. Relevant short animated films will also be screened for participants as examples of the techniques being used, and to enrich their knowledge of animated films.
We also have some upcoming workshops in the Ark:
Our first workshop is being hosted by PP’s Pádraig at the Ark as part of the Animation Art Show, with a more in depth series of workshops beginning in June and continuing into August which you can check out HERE, HERE, & HERE We’ll be posting more information on those workshops once final details are all confirmed!
PP’s Pádraig recently had the pleasure of hosting a Sand Animation workshop with the Animation Students of Ballyfermot College of Further Education. Many thanks to the participating students and the staff and board of BCFE!
